Utah County Mom: Halloween Goodie Bag Tutorial & FREE Pattern

Looking for a quick, easy, Halloween gift idea?  These no-sew goodie bags were super easy and took me less than 2 hours to make both.  These would be perfect if you’re planning on visiting a neighbor or even for a teacher gift!

All you need is the pattern printed out (links below), felt, a glue gun, and a few straight pins.

First, pin the pattern onto the felt and cut out the shape.

Next, cut a strip along the long edge of the felt about 2 inches wide.

Cut a narrower strip along the same edge (about 1/2 inch wide) which will eventually be used for the handle.

Glue all of the pieces on for each side of the bag.  Use black marker to draw in the pupils, draw the line under the hair, and draw the mouth.

Use hot glue to secure the 2 inch wide strip of felt along the edges of the wrong side of the character.

Make sure to glue close to the edge and press firmly to dry.

Cut off the excess felt from the strip once it is glued to the first character.  (It should look like the picture below.)

Glue the other side of the bag into place.

Add the handle by putting a dot of glue on each end and pressing firmly into place.

Fill with candy and you’re ready to go!
