Utah County Mom: Lion’s Park

We have family who live near Lion’s Park so we decided to take a walk one day around the new walking trail they put there.

I hadn’t been to this park in a while and they have improved it a lot since I last went!  There is now a walking trail that loops around most of the park, and I heard rumors of other improvements in the works.

This park has a lot of open space to fly kites, play ball, have picnics, run with your dog, etc.  The park is 17 acres so it’s pretty big.

There is a small stream that goes between the park and the parking lots, with a few bridges over it to cross.  I usually am a little nervous about kids near running water like this, but this stream wasn’t even a foot deep so it didn’t worry me as much.

This park has a huge pavillion with 41 tables in it and power and lights.  It would be a good place for a huge gathering because it is covered, and the pavillion is right next to the playground.

Lily and I played on the playground for a little while.  The playground isn’t huge but it’s enough to keep a kid entertained for a while.

There is also a smaller pavillion south of the playground which has 12 tables.  South of that pavillion is a softball field which you can reserve by calling 801.852.6600.

There is also a sand volleyball court but you are supposed to provide your own net.

Although it’s not

my favorite park in Provo

Lion’s Park would be a good picnic or barbeque place, or a good place to go on a morning walk.
