I used my favorite sugar cookie recipe to make my husband’s paramedic class some EKG cookies. I even did a couple flat lined.
These cookies are amazing – they are thick and moist and sweet – think Grandma Sycamore’s cookies. Mmm.
To do the cookies, I just googled “EKG strips” and looked at the images so I could copy a few. Here is the recipe (I made my cookies without nutmeg this time):
Old Fashioned Sugar
Cookies
1 cup butter
1 ½ cups sugar
4 ½ cups flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
½ t. nutmeg (optional)
1 cup sour cream
1 ½ teaspoon vanilla
Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour
cream until incorporated. Add vanilla. Chill. Roll to ¼’’ thick and cut. Put on
ungreased cookie sheet (I actually greased it for my cookies). Bake at 375
degrees for 8-10 minutes until golden around the edges. Cool and frost.
